I’ve already read Richard Rhodes’ history of the Manhatten project so wasn’t sure if this would feel very repetitive.

But as the author has mostly collected first-hand comments from the participants it’s a very different kind of book and very engaging. It also covers the other sites of the project in more detail than other books and really gives you a sense of the sheer scale of it.
