Simple status-bar

Plug an iOS device with a lightning port into your Mac running Yosemite and fire up QuickTime. Start a new movie and select your iPhone or iPad as the video source.

This is how you record an App Preview movie — but it also has a nice side effect: You’ll see the status bars on your iOS device have changed to show Apple’s ’09:41′ time and that your carrier name and signal strength have been cleaned up as well:

Now you can take screenshots on the device the usual way and they’ll include the tidy status bar — one less thing to worry about!
